BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible to provide comprehensive social work services for all patient types in compliance with departmental scope of services and hospital policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related discipline.
• Basic Life Support Certification.
• Registered with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.

Experience:

• Two (2) years experience of social work practice in a health care setting, after Bachelors Degree or completion of one (1) year in Saudi Career Development Program (SCDP).

Skills:

• Demonstrated knowledge of modern social work principles and practices in the health care settings, including the nature and causes of developmental disabilities, social maladjustment, and medical and mental illness, and their psychosocial impact on patients and families.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize conceptual frameworks to guide the processes of assessment, intervention and evaluation and use evidenced-based practices to improve social service delivery.
• Communicates effectively and persuasively in a variety of different media (oral, written and electronic) to connect to others in a deep and direct way, to sense and stimulate reactions and desired interactions and to positively influence the thinking of others.
• Demonstrates a responsible behavior by displaying a high level of initiative, effort, motivation and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Forms strong positive working relationships across all areas of the service, builds on a common understanding and demonstrates a supportive and reciprocating work style including strong empathy with service users and customers.
